If you have been following this blog for the last few weeks, you must be aware of the Kiko obsession that has taken over here! Today is the last of the Kiko related reviews for a while..but I will surely be buying more Kiko products since I was extremely pleased with what I have tried so far from the brand. Let us take a look today, at a gorgeous blush which was released as part of the Rebel Romantic collection!
First off, the packaging is lovely!! It does not have much weight to it, unlike the lipstick I reviewed here from the same collection but it is still gorgeous. (I am sucker for rose gold anything!!). I like the pattern on the compact as well. Overall, the packaging gets an A+ for the sophisticated vibe.
This product is a cream blush and usually I avoid cream blushes since they spoil faster than powder blushes. However, the color of this blush totally sucked me into buying it! It is the perfect shade for fall. I picked up the blush in the shade 04 Passion Red Wine.
As you can see, the color is stunning! Although the blush is described as bouncy, I didn’t find it to be particularly soft to press down. In fact I found the texture quite interesting. The blush picks up from the pan onto your finger tip as a thick ‘tough’ cream but the moment you spread it on your skin it blends in beautifully. I have been applying this blush with my finger tips and have not tried using a brush since I am afraid a brush might pick up too much product.
The blush is described as a satin matte blush and it looks very natural on the skin. It has just the right amount of sheen and is not a dead matte shade on the cheeks. The color is intense and you need very little of the product to give your cheeks some color. I have a medium skintone and this blush works really well. If you are extremely pale I guess you need to be very careful!!
The blush lasts really well too. I found that it lasts perfectly for around 8 hours. Overall, I am really impressed with this product! If you would like to try it out, I suggest you head over to kiko and order now since this is part of their rebel romantic limited edition collection.
Hope you all had a great week! I am so happy its Friday 😀 As promised last week, I am continuing my love affair with Kiko this week as well. As I mentioned in my last post, I really love the presentation of Kiko’s limited edition products. The products from their Rebel Romantic collection look exceptionally beautiful. I picked up 2 items from this collection, one of them is the lipstick I am going to talk about today 🙂
The packaging screams luxury! But , do you know how much it costs? 😉 (10$…yup, you saw that number right). I love everything about the packaging: the external box, the lipstick bullet..everything!! The lipstick has some weight to it and it doesn’t feel cheap. The lipstick case has a magnetic closure so it ‘snaps’ like most high end lipsticks. However, I feel the magnetic closure isn’t strong enough and there is a small chance it might open up in your handbag. But it will lovely on your vanity table 🙂
The intensely lavish lipstick comes in 6 shades in total. I picked up the shade 04- Mild Sangria. It is a strawberry pinky red and I absolutely love the shade.
I love the design imprinted on the lipstick too! These lipsticks are described as being a creamy lipstick with intense color. I am happy to report that all these claims are true. The lipstick is super pigmented and the formula is one of the best ones I have tried across the drugstore and high end formulas!! Lofty claims I know..but you just got to try it for yourself and you’ll know what I am talking about 😉
The formula is such that it glides onto to your lips effortlessly and its not too creamy that you need to worry about it slipping and getting beyond the lip line. The color payoff is amazing too and lasts for a pretty long time even with light eating and drinking. The formula is so comfortable on the lips that you pretty much forget the fact that you’ve put it on!
Overall this lipstick is a big winner in my books. The product performs exceptionally well, packaged beautifully and is reasonably priced…what more can a girl want in her lipstick 😀 I have not been so impressed with a lipstick in while and I might just pick up more shades!
If you want to try these out, I suggest you head over to the kiko website and order before they are sold out (they are limited edition).
In case you haven’t heard of the awesome brand called Kiko let me introduce you to one of Europe’s awesome offerings to the makeup world. Kiko makeup is known for its affordable prices, quality products and their limited edition items have the loveliest packaging for an affordable brand. For a long time I have drooled over some of their limited edition stuff available only in Europe..that was until I found out that they now have a US website where you can order online 🙂 I picked up 3 limited edition items (which I will review through the course of this month; before they sell out!). The blush I am going to talk about today is from their summer collection called Miami Beach Babe, and currently all the items in this collection are 50% off! So go check it out 🙂
Most of Kiko’s items are priced at slightly above drug store prices. The double deco blushes retail originally for 14$ but with the current slashed prices they are only 6.90 a piece which is a really cool price to pay! The packaging is plastic but the compact is nice and sleek. I am not sure if I like the Barbie pink color though 😛
Once you open up the compact, you’ll find a nice big mirror which is always nice if your on the go. The blush pan is split in a funny way; 3/4th of the pan is the matte pink blush and the remaining area of the pan is an interesting shimmer shade.
The way the blushes are in the pan could be problematic if your used to using a big brush for applying blush. I didn’t find the placement too troublesome. The 2 shades are lovely! The matte pink is warm to neutral and hence can be pulled off by a lot of skintones. The shimmer is a peachy brown shade which looks lovely as a blush topper. I haven’t used the shimmer shade on its own since I am always tempted to layer the matte blush with this guy whenever I use this blush 🙂
The blush is described as being a silky and melting duo. The powder is finely milled but I wouldn’t call it silky..but the quality is good none the less. It blends really well and stays put for an entire 8 hour work day which is awesome for the price. So would I recommend this blush? Absolutely!! Especially for the current sale price 😉
If you love the packaging and the blush do check it out before they are sold out. Meanwhile, stay tuned for more Kiko Makeup reviews!!
