Coast to Coast Ultra Soothing Cleansing Oil

Hello folks! Happy Easter!! I am a huge fan of oil cleansers to remove makeup since I find it the easiest way to get the job done…no cotton pads, no wipes, no tugging and rubbing. I have been using the DHC cleansing oil reviewed HERE for a long time and decided to switch it up by picking up the oil cleanser from the Australian brand Coast to Coast.

Coast to Coast was available in Ulta till the end of last year (I picked this up in October)..I’m not sure if they carry them anymore since I cannot find it in the Ulta website anymore. It is sad if the brand has been pulled off the shelves because I found their brightening clay mask (review) awesome and it compelled me to try more stuff from the brand.

The Coast to Coast Ultra Soothing Cleansing Oil

Oil cleansers are applied to the dry skin and you massage and spread it  around after which you wash your face with water. Upon contact with water, it mildly foams up and leaves your skin all clean. The DHC cleaning oil is very light in texture compared to the coast to coast one. This oil is a bit thicker and so I feel like I need more than 2 pumps to cover my full face.

In terms of performance it does a great job in removing all my makeup including mascara. I find it comparable to the DHC oil. I always follow up with a regular face cleanser after removing my makeup with an oil cleanser just to make sure everything is removed! My face does not feel stripped of moisture after I am done with my makeup removal which is great!

The only issue I have with this oil is the smell. It is not too strong but I generally am not a fan of herbal like scents. As you can see in the ingredient list above, there is a mixture of oils in this product which explains the thicker texture of the oil and also the smell. The DHC one is primarily olive oil based and hence lighter in texture.

Overall, I like this product and might purchase it again if I can find it!

Have you tried anything from Coast to Coast? If not Ulta, where else is it available?

Until next time…ciao!!

NYX Dark Circle Concealer

Hello folks!

Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday! The NYX Dark circle concealer is something I bought on a whim a year back and I am surprised by how much I kind of like it! I don’t suffer from chronic dark circles thankfully, but there are those days when it looks like my under eye area could do with a little bit of brightening and cancelling any darkness from lack of sleep. With a price tag of just 6$ I thought why not try this out and see what it can do..

The concealer comes in 4 shades and I picked up the shade DCC02 Light. The next shade medium looked a bit too dark for my skintone. Ideally a shade in between 02 and 03 probably works best for my skintone (nc25-30). However, since I don’t need to use too much of it, shade 02 works fine for me. The concealer is peachy in color and I think it would be more accurate to call this a corrector.

The texture of this is nice and creamy. It does not have a cakey consistency on the skin and blends really well. As you can see from the picture above, I’ve barely made a dent in the product! You need very little of the product to do the job especially if your dark circles are not intense. The one downside of the creamy texture is that this guy creases unless you set it with a powder. I don’t experience much creasing in normal dry weather since I have dry skin but if you have normal to oily skin you might experience some creasing even with powder on top.

I’m not a fan of the pot packaging, especially since I found this product to work best when applied with fingers. The product warms up when applied with your fingers and helps in the blending process. It feels really light on the skin and that is a huge plus!

Overall, I am not sure if this product has enough coverage for someone suffering from really bad under eye darkness since it has a fairly light to medium coverage. If you are looking for a product to fix some minor darkness issues that pop up once in a while this is great for the price tag!

Have you tried the NYX Dark circle concealer? What is your take on it?

Until next time…ciao!!

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyshadow Palette Review

Hello everyone!!

I am really excited to share with everyone my thoughts on one of the best palettes I have found till date! I love warm toned sunset themed colors for my eyelids and the Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette had the most beautiful warm shades. Although, this palette is more summer spring themed, I have been enjoying it since I got my hands on this in November (getting my hands on it was a herculean task since Zoeva is not readily available where I live!). You can technically order it off the Zoeva website but the international shipping rates are a bit steep :(.

Zoeva is a German brand best known for their gorgeous brushes. I had my eyes on this palette ever since it released and finally snagged it during a trip! The palette is very reasonable priced at around 17 Euros and has a very sleek cardboard packaging. The palette looks gorgeous even on the outside!!

Once you open this up, your eyes will sparkle seeing 10 lovely shades in nice large pans :D. The palette does not have a mirror though.

I personally would categorize the 10 shades into 3 mattes, 3 foil like intense shades, 2 satin shades and 2 glitter shadow. Overall, all of them have very good pigmentation and although not soft and crumbly to touch like the Lorac pro shadows, they apply very smooth and creamy on the eyelids. This palette is perfect for those who find it hard to be extra gentle with their shadows when dipping in their brush 😀

Now for some close ups and swatches! I have swatched all the shades using a brush and the swatches you see are obtained by swiping the brush just once! These shadows are very nicely pigmented and can be easily build up depending on your liking.

The first four shades: Bitter Start, Sweet End and below we have Pure Ganache and Substitute for Love

Substitute for Love has very small glitter bits in it but it does not show up on the skin. It can easily function as a matte crease shade. Pure Ganache is a real beauty! It has a foiled eyeshadow effect on the eyes!

The remaining shadows which are on the darker end of spectrum are equally lovely!

Top Row: Warm Notes, Subtle Blend, Beans are White. Bottom Row: Freshly Toasted, Infusion, Delicate Acidity

Warm notes is one of my favorite shades in this palette! This too has a foiled finish on the lids. Beans are white is a bit disappointing as it is not very easy to blend unlike the rest of the shadows. I am also not a fan of infusion since the glitter tends to fall out. Delicate acidity is a pretty duo chrome shade with a satin finish.

I have worn these eyeshadows with a primer (I always use one) and they last well over 8 hours with no creasing . I did however notice that Ganache tends to fade a bit after 8 hours of wear on my lids. The other shades don’t pose this problem!

If your on the hunt for a nice warm toned eyeshadow palette I recommend you pick this one !! It also has the added bonus of being paraben free, mineral oil free with no fragrence and no phthalates 🙂

Have you tried any of the Zoeva Palettes? What do you think of them?

Until next time…ciao!!

Around the World via Beauty Products- Rosense from Turkey!

Hello everyone!

Hope you all are having a great week so far! It has been a really long time since I did one of my Around the world via beauty posts. Today , I am excited to share with you guys my experience using the brand Rosense from Turkey.  I was fortunate to visit this lovely country last summer and of course I had to pick up some local beauty stuff! I did do some online research on which brands to look out for and I saw that everyone recommended picking up rose water by the brand Rosense since it was 100% pure rose water.

Rosense Rose water

Rosense 100% rose water

I have never used rose water on my skin before but I have heard that it is a great natural toner and has anti bacterial properties. I have seen a few brands selling rose water, but most of them have glycerin or preservatives. It was nice to get my hands on something that was just pure distilled rose water.

I use this at night after cleansing my face and before moisturizing. It takes very little to soak a cotton pad and patting it onto my skin has become one of my favorite steps in my skin care routine! It is nice and refreshing and smells divine.

I honestly, can’t tell if it has improved my skin but but I find that my moisturizer sinks in better after this step. I just like how it feels on my skin , generally lifts your mood (must be the smell of roses!) and makes you feel like your in a Spa!

A little online search shows that Rosense has a Canada and UK website and they are available on amazon UK. I  think it is available in Germany too although I didn’t find a country specific website.

It would be awesome if Rosense was more readily available..its a Spa for your face in a nice Pink bottle 😀

Overall, I like this to generally pamper my face and it is quite uplifting after a long day.Have you tried Rose water in your beauty routine? Do let me know your favorite brands of Rose water!

Until next time… ciao!!
