Gosh Cosmetics Multicolor Blush in Pink Pie

Hello!

How often do you buy makeup and then forget to open it or just sit and admire it but never use it? I am guilty of the second misdemeanor, and this blush from Gosh Cosmetics was one of my victims. I picked this up when I went on holiday to Europe many moons ago, and it just sat there in my drawer and I always picked it up and admired it but never got around to using it. Thankfully that changed! The last 6 months I have used this quite often and I absolutely love it!

Gosh Cosmetics Blush in Pink Pie

Excuse the scruffy lid in the picture. The security label left a pretty sticky mess on the lid which just refuses to come off. Gosh cosmetics, is a Denmark based cosmetics brand and I think they are available in Canada but not the US to the best of my knowledge. I have heard good things about the brand so decided to try their blush out when I saw their products in Europe. I must have paid around 10 Euros or something for this blush, which isn’t too bad.

The 4 quadrants

The packaging is quite sturdy and perfect for travel. The first quadrant is the lilac shade which is matte followed by the lovely warm pink shade which is also a matte. The next shade is the orange/coral shade which has some gold shimmer bits in it and the last quadrant is a matte rosy brown shade. Each quadrant is big enough to fit a standard size blush brush so you can use these shades individually. However, I love to use this all swirled together. It looks very healthy on the skin. It gives the perfect sheen on the cheeks without highlighting pores and it lasts all day. I love the natural flush it gives my cheeks.

Swatches of the quadrants: 1. Matte liliac shade, 2. Matte Pink shade, 3. Orange/coral shade with glitter, 4. Matte rosy brown shade

Overall, I am very impressed with the blush. I would love to try more products from the brand. Have you tried Gosh Cosmetics products? What are your favorites from the brand?

Until next time, ciao!!

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Touch of Glow foundation

Hello! I was not really looking to buy a foundation but decided to try out the Physicians Formula Nude Wear Touch of Glow foundation on a whim. That is how most makeup shopping happens right πŸ˜‰ I really enjoy trying out stuff from Physicians Formula and they are one of my favorite drug store brands. I have enjoyed the spotless youthful wear foundation (reviewed HERE) in the past. This is described on their website as a weightless foundation that gives your skin an illuminating veil of radiance. I am not sure if they are phasing this out since they now have the Healthy foundation. I hope not, since I really like this foundation!

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Touch of Glow Foundation

I do not enjoy heavy coverage matte foundations in general and if you are like me, you’ll love this one! It is sheer and build able and helps even out your skin without covering it completely. It is pretty much non detectable and I use barely a pump for my whole face. Oh I forgot to mention that this beautiful rose gold bottle has a pump πŸ˜€ Physicians Formula never disappoints when it comes to packaging.

I have been using this foundation happily this summer and found that this foundation holds up till the end of the day. I do have dry skin and I think its perfect for my skin type. I am not sure how this would work for people with oilier skin.

They do have only 3 shades unfortunately but if you are able to find your shade. I’d say try it out!

Avon Iconic Beauty Palette from Holiday 2018

Hello folks!

My previous post was on the lovely lipsticks in the Avon Iconic Beauty holiday collection which I had ordered from their website. In order to get free shipping, I added the Iconic Beauty Palette too into my cart πŸ˜€ and today our review is all about this palette.

IMG_4037_1
The Avon Iconic Beauty Palette

Avon gets an A+ for the beautiful packaging! I love the outer box and the inner palette cover looks nice too. This palette comes with 4 eyeshadows and 2 blushes. Out of these 2 products I’d say the eyeshadows were not the best. The shades look pretty in the pan, but the color payoff was not that great.

IMG_4038_1
Inside the Avon Iconic Palette Holiday 2018

The gold shade was the biggest miss in my opinion. It has sparkle but is extremely sheer in pigmentation. I have to really really build up the shadow for it to look atleast somewhat close to how it looks in the pan. The other 3 shadows are better pigmentation wise. However, all of them are extremely powdery. The shadows do last on my eyelids when used with a primer. So all that building up of the color does not go waste! I do not think these shades will last very long without a primer, since they are so powdery I think they might just ‘dust’ away.

IMG_4040_1
Brush swatches of the Avon Iconic Palette

As you can see from the brush swatches above the gold has barely any pigment. You really need to keep packing on the shadow for any pigment to show up!

The 2 blushes are the saving grace of this palette. One of the shades is a peachy pink with gold shimmer ( NARS Orgasm style) and the other is a more deeper matte peach blush. The blushes are also powdery so expect some powder fallout all over the palette. These blushes are build able which is a good thing as far as blushes go! You have better control over the amount of color you are depositing on your cheeks. I found the blushes to be pretty long lasting too! I have dry skin so I generally do not have issues with powder products disappearing towards the end of the day.

Overall, this is an okay palette. I think I will stick to buying lipsticks from Avon since their formula on the iconic lipstick line was amazing πŸ™‚

Avon Iconic Lipsticks from Holiday 2018

Hello folks!

This review was supposed to go up in December but then I got caught up with so many things around the holiday season as we all do! I had purchased these lipsticks and an eye and cheek palette from the Avon Holiday collection on black friday. To be honest, I have never been interested in Avon as a brand, but when I saw these lipsticks on Instagram, I just had to have them!

If you are into vintage and retro makeup, this is your dream collection. Look at the beautiful outer boxes for these lipsticks! I have decided to keep these boxes..they just make me happy πŸ™‚

The Avon Iconic Lipsticks for Holiday 2018

Now if you’ve fallen for the outer box packaging, wait till you see the actual lipstick cases πŸ˜€ They look fabulous..especially since these were 6 or 7$ a piece. Each lipstick case is gold metal and has a distinctive pattern on the lid. They have a nice weight to them so they don’t feel cheap.

img_4030_1
So lovely! The Avon Iconic lipstick cases look fantastic πŸ™‚

I usually buy a shade or 2 from a collection but with this one I just couldn’t resist getting all the 5 shades. The 5 shades are Sugar Plum: a magenta shade, Holly red : a classic holiday red, Holiday Chocolate: a pinky brown nude, Wine Kisses: a deep purple shade and finally a shimmery lipstick in the shade Merry Mauve. Merry Mauve is more light pink than a mauve so I’m not sure why they named it so!

Avon Iconic Lipsticks

Things get even better ;)..the formula of these lipsticks is amazing! They feel like a high end lipstick. Avon describes these as a satin finish, but they look more creamy than satin on my lips and I love it. They glide on very smoothly, have rich pigment and feel very comfortable on the lips. I even like Merry Mauve although it is shimmery. It did not look frosty on the lips thankfully! Except for Wine kisses, which is too dark for my personal liking I have been rocking these lipsticks all through December πŸ˜€

img_4032_1

The formula is consistent across all the shades. There was no patchiness or skipping among any of them.

Overall, it is a beautiful collection which hit the mark with the packaging and the actual product too! I am impressed with Avon and would love to try more of their lipsticks in the future πŸ™‚

The Sleek Vintage Romance Eyeshadow Palette

A while back I picked up a couple of items from Sleek makeup to try some of their products since I have heard so much about the brand. I had picked up some blushes which I’ll review soon and also 2 eyeshadow palettes. I already reviewed The Goodnight Sweetheart PaletteΒ Β which I liked and which actually drew me to explore the brand. The Vintage Romance Palette didn’t quite hit the mark with me though and straight off the bat I’d say go try the Goodnight Sweetheart palette if you are looking to sample the brands eyeshadows. I was drawn to this palette because of the plums and purples which is my kind of shadows these days, but they lacked depth and richness 😦

IMG_3895_1
Sleek Vintage Romance Eyeshadow Palette

The Palette looks like all the sleek palettes..a nice compact thin black plastic palette with a mirror. The palette has 1 matte shade and the rest are satins and shimmers.

IMG_3903_1
Sleek Vintage Romance color selection

The colors look beautiful right? I love the shade selection here! The shade names come in plastic sheet which you can lose anytime. I just realized as I am writing this post, I forgot to label the shade names in the photo! Bad beauty blogger! So I’ll just write out the names here. Top row from left to right the shades are : Pretty in Paris, Meet in Madrid, Court in Cannes, Lust in LA, Romance in Rome and Propose in Prague. They are swatched below with a brush in the same order πŸ™‚

IMG_3905_1
Swatches of the top row

My favorite shades in this palette are those lovely metallic shimmers in the first row: Meet in Madrid, Court in Cannes and Lust in LA. The purple blue shade called Romance in Rome is not as intense as I thought it would be..it lacks some depth and richness. Propose in Prague is the only matte shade in the palette and it works okay as a crease color.

The second row consists of the following shades from left to right: A Vow in Venice, Marry in Monte Carlo, Honeymoon in Hollywood, Bliss in Barcelona, Forever in Florence and Love in London.

IMG_3914_1
Bottom Row Swatches

This row was a big disappointment for me. Marry in Monte Carlo is nice (the second shade from the left). The rest of them are quite flat and dare I say chalky :/ Don’t get me wrong, these shadows work, just that they don’t have depth of color..so you might not get the intensity you see in the pan. Bliss in Barcelona is such a lovely shade..wish it was a tad more pigmented!

The 2 shades I absolutely don’t like in this palette is Forever in Florence and Love in London – the last 2 shades in the bottom row. They have chunky glitter and apply quite patchy.

Overall, I’d say you can make this palette work and for the money it is not too bad. If you are looking to try Sleek shadows try out the Goodnight Sweetheart palette..I find the shadows in that one more consistent; quality and pigmentation wise.

Have you tried Sleek Eyeshadow palettes?

Until next time, ciao!!

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer

Hello folks! It has been raining a bit here the last few days and it feels like summer is starting to say its final goodbyes. Rain or shine, I seem to have dark circles from lack of sleep these days (Thanks to a super active baby boy). I still don’t think they are as bad as the dark circles I have seen with certain friends and family, but its visible and makes me look tired so they gotta get hidden! I made an order with the UK website Feelunique back in January when they had a sale and decided to try the Bourjois Radiance concealer. I have had good luck with Bourjois products in the past, so I was excited to try this out too πŸ™‚

IMG_3861_1
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer

The Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer claims to correct, illuminate and provide 24 hour hydration. Sounds good so far right? They have also written on the bottle that it contains Mont Blanc glacier water and Hyaluronic acid. Sign me up please!

I picked out the shade 02 Beige. It is a good match for my NC25 TO NC30 skin tone. I plan to use this primarily as an under eye concealer so this was a good match for that purpose.

The concealer comes in a nice frosted glass looking plastic tube. I like the luxe look :). The applicator is a standard doe foot which works well with the product. The concealer is light in texture and not too thick. I dab 2 to 3 dots under my eyes with the doe foot applicator and then use my ring finger to dab and spread it. It is a quick and easy way to get the job done!

IMG_3862_1
The doe foot applicator

I have dry skin under my eyes and this concealer does not accentuate the dryness. In fact it is hydrating and look very natural. The big question is does it do a good job concealing? Yes! It works really well for my moderate dark circles. I am not sure how well this would perform if you are looking to cover up blemishes, acne scars and really dark circles under the eyes.Β  Have you tired this concealer for any of those purposes? Let everyone know in the comments what you think πŸ˜€

After using this concealer I like to set my whole face and under eyes with the Laura Geller Balance n Brighten face powder. It gives the best natural look and everything looks perfect and holds on till end of day.

I do not have any negatives to mention! Looks like this might be my new favorite concealer for a while!! It conceals under eye darkness, stays put once set, has a light weight texture, no dry and crusty under eyes…pretty much checked all the boxes on my perfect under eye concealer list πŸ™‚

Kiko Milano Unlimited Lip Stylo in Number 17 Tulip Red

Hello folks! I am a big fan of Kiko Makeup products and have reviewed quite a few of their makeup items on my blog. Most of the time I end up buying stuff from their gorgeous limited edition collections. They have great prices (especially on sale) and pretty packaging – enough to get my attention πŸ™‚ So far everything I have tried from the brand have been hits.

I decided to try out the Unlimited lip stylo in number 17 from their permanent line. The lipstick is described as being creamy with a semi matte finish. This also promises high pigment and a long lasting finish. The packaging as you can see is on point! It looks like a gun metal pill and has the color printed on. Now, the color is not 100% accurate but it is quite close. The lipstick also has some weight to it so it feels more expensive than it really is.

IMG_3847_1
Kiko Milano Unlimited Lip stylo in No.17 Tulip Red

The color is best described as a bright red with orange undertones in the tube. Once applied on the lips however, the orange doesn’t come thru so much and it looks like a nice warm red. The lipstick bullet shape is quite nice too and givesΒ  good coverage with a single sweep.

IMG_3852_1
Kiko Unlimited lip stylo in Tulip Red

Everything so far sounds great, but the formula is where I kind of went meh! The lipstick is described as being creamy but I found that this drags a bit over the lips especially if I tried wearing this with no lip balm underneath. It is a bit waxy in texture. I was disappointed since I absolutely love the formula of their matte lipstick from the Rebel Romantic Collection (REVIEWED HERE). The formula on that lipstick is amazing..it is creamy, matte, pigmented and comfortable.

IMG_3855_1
Swatch of the Kiko Unlimited lip stylo in number 17

They do deliver on the promise of intense pigmentation! The color is quite vivid on the lips and it does stay put on the lips for an entire work day. This particular color does stain my lips a bit so I always have some color on my lips at the end of the day ( in a good way!)

Overall, this isn’t a bad lipstick. The formula is so so. I have tried better products from the brand before, so this is my first average product from Kiko.
