A classic warm toned eye look!

Hello everyone!

I recently got my hands on the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eye shadow palette and it is a warm toned shadow lover’s dream come true. I have used this palette a ton since getting it in November. Today’s look was created with the first 3 shades I gravitated towards when I first opened up the palette.

I used the foil like gold shade Pure Ganache all over the lid (its stunning especially packed on!). In the crease I used the shade Substitute for love, an orange camel brown followed by Freshly Toasted, a dark caramel brown in the outer V blended into the crease a bit as well. Finally I used the matte creamy  shade Bitter Start under the brow bone.

Physicians Formula Youthful wear spotless foundation

Hello folks! It is the season of spring releases with both drug store and high end brands flooding the market with new products. I did notice that there seems to be a trend (again) towards serum like foundations this year with Stila, YSL etc launching serum foundations. Today, I thought I’d discuss on the blog, my thoughts on a serum like foundation from the drug store that has been around for a while. I have been using the Physicians formula youthful wear spotless foundation for over a year now and I am finally ready to talk about it 😀

Last year they did release a luminous version of this, however I thought I’d give this one a try since I heard this gives a natural satin matte finish. The finish on the skin does lean more satin like versus a matte finish and I like the look of it on my dry skin. The foundation does cling sometimes to dry patches but if you exfoliate, it should be fine.

I generally do not like heavy full coverage foundations and this one fits the bill on the type and texture of foundation I like! The foundation is dispensed via a glass dropper and is extremely liquid like. It takes only 3 drops max to apply it all over my face. The coverage is light to medium and it feels very lightweight on the skin..so much so you tend to forget that your wearing foundation. The  foundation helps even out my skin tone and covers up any redness on the skin.

I have to give a shout out to the packaging! This is the cutest foundation bottle I own 🙂 I like the glass bottle with the purple dots and I find the glass dropper very convenient to dispense product.

Now there are a couple of things about the foundation that I am not a big fan of. First off, the smell! This foundation has a very strong herbal scent to it which fortunately doesn’t linger for too long once you’ve applied it onto the skin. However, if you are very sensitive to scents this might be a bit too much for you to handle!

The lasting power of the foundation is not fantastic. I get maximum wear time during the cooler and drier months on my dry skin. During the summer I noticed that my T zone gets oily after 6 hours. If you have very oily skin, this foundation might not be the greatest in terms of lasting power.

The other problem as with many PF products, is the limited shade range. There are I think 3 shades available. I have the lightest shade which has yellow undertones and is a match for my medium NC25 to 30 skin tone. There isn’t any option available for those with very pale skin or anyone with a deeper skin tone.

Overall, I like this foundation although the lasting power during the warmer months isn’t great. This will work well for those looking for a light to medium coverage foundation that feels like skin once applied.

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Until next time..ciao!!
